Halyps Cement - Italcementi Group

Halyps Company, as a member of Italcementi Group, operating in 22 countries, organized on December 19^th 2007 an Information and Awareness Raising Conference in Aspropyrgos, on the subject of local community’s modern social problems. The event, organized in cooperation with the General Secretariat on Equality and the Municipality of Aspropyrgos supported the program "Positive Actions for equal opportunities between men and women in small, medium-sized and large enterprises", Measure 5.1..

The topics raised were the psychosocial repercussions of breast cancer, prevention of drugs and the role of woman-mother in it as well as working women work-life balance. Under the Corporate Social Responsibility, Halyps is committed to strengthening the equal opportunities between men and women in the labour sector through their equal participation in posts of responsibility; the event’s purpose was to highlight the significant role played today by women in many sectors.

This event was a tangible confirmation, not only of the equality policy applied by the company but also of the local community support policy adopted by Halyps in the framework of Sustainable Development, establishing relations of mutual confidence in the local communities it operates. In such a way, the company proves in practice that it recognizes it social role and is committed to a responsible social behavior vis-à-vis all of its associates in all its activities sectors.
